THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIlV:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 6446, approved January 23,
1925, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking
out of Section I the letter "I ", and by substit�.ting in lieu thereof the '
letter "E"; and by adding, at the end of Section I, the following subsection:
"F VACATION-- In each calendar year, each regular or provisional
employee shall be granted vacation at the rate of ten worki_ng days
per year. .After five years of full-tirne service each such employee
shall be granted vacation at the rate of fifteen working days per year.
After fifteen years of full=time service each such employee shall be
granted va.cation at the rate of°twenty worki.ng days per year. Any
such employee employed prior to January ;1, 1963.s.hall in no case be
granted va.cation at a rate of less than fifteen worki.ng days per year. �
The head of the department may permit an employee to carry over
into the following year up to five va.cation days. Any employee who .
does not work full time sha�ll be granted va,cation on a pro rata basis.
� ' The time of vacation shall be fixed by the head of the department in
� which the employee is employed. If an employee has been granted
more va.cation than he has earned up to the time of his separation

-' -'�~'sucfi'unearned vacation. ilfYan employee is separated`fro'm�the service
by reason of resignation, he shall be granted such va.cation pay as he
may have earned up to the time of such separation, provided that he
has notified the department head in writing at least fifteen calendar days
prior to the datE of his resignation. If an employee is� separated from
the service by reason of layoff, discharge, retirement or death, he
shall be granted such vacation pay as he rnay have earned up to the time
of such separation. Th� provisions of this subsection F of Section I
shall not apply to any employee paid.under Section�8 F of Ordinance
No. 3250, or to any employee whose position is in the Special Employ-
ment secia.on of the Ungraded Division (Section 7 of Ordinance No. 3250),
and who is paid by the hour or by the performance. "
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after January 1, 1968.
