THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 5AINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section l. That Section 308.20 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code be and the same is hereby amended to read: Subdivision l. Hours of sale. No sale of intoxicating �. liquor shall be made after one a.m. on Sunday, except as � hereinafter provided, nor between the hours of one a.m. � and three o'clock p.m. on an� Memorial Day, nor between the hours of one a.m. and eight o'clock p.m. on any Election Day. No "on sale" shall be �made between the� hours of one a.m. and eight �o.'clock a.m. on any weekday. No "off sale" shall be made before eight o'clock a.m. or after eight o'clock p.m. of any day, except "off sale" shall be permitted on Saturday until ten o'clock p.m. No "off sale" shall, be made on New Year's Day, January lf , Memorial Day, May 30= Independence Day, July 4, Thanks- giving Day; or Christmas Day, December 25; but on the evenings preceding such 'days, if the sale o€ liquor is ' ,��,,� ,�, not otherwise grohibited on _such evenings, -"off sales"'' -- ` � may be made until ten o`clock p.m. , �except that no � «�� , " , ' � "off sale" shall be made on December 24 after eight _� . . o'c1oCk p.m. ,� -�. ° �a . (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivision 1, establishments to which • "on sale" licenses have been issued or hereafter may be issued for the sale of intoxicating liquors which . are hotels or restaurants and which have facilities for serving not less than 50 guests at one time, may serve intoxicating liquors between the hours of 12 o'clock noon and 12 o'clock midnight on Sundays in conjunction with the serving of food, but no liquor shall be served on 5undays other than to persons who are �seated at tables. � ' .(b) It is unlawful for any such establishment, directly " -• � or indirectly, to sell or serve intbxicating liquors as pro- vided in paragraph (a) above, without having first obtained _ . a ,. Application for said special license shall be made to the Council in the same manner as application for other licenses to sell intoxicating liquor are made. (c) This subdivision shall not apply until authorized by the voters of the City voting on the question at a special . election called for such purpose or at the general election in the City, the election to be conducted in accordance with the applicable �provisions of the Minnesota election law. - Section 2.
