AN ORDINANCE SETTLING THE CLAIM OF
THE GREAT NORTHERN INSURANCE COMPANY
AGAINST THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL. ;�
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section l. That the proper City officers are hereby
authorized to pay, out of the Tort Liability Fund 0035-�-21
to Great Northern Insurance Company Soo Line Building,
Minneapolis, Minnesota, the sum of �300.00 in full settlement
of its claim for damages against the City of Saint Paul,
resulting from a colliaion between a vehicle driven by John
F. Klaas and a truck owned by Lincoln Transfer Company, such
collision allegedly renderin� said insurance company liable
for damages to the person and vehicle of John F. Klaas in
the amount of �600.00 and occasioning a claim of contribution
from the City on aecount of its maintenance of its streets,
which caused or contributed to cause the accident.
Section 2. That the settlement of the claim in the
amount of $300.00 is made in consideration of the fact that
it is to the best interest of the City, the parties, and the
claimant to resolve their differences, wi�hout admittin�
liability on the part of the City of Saint Paul to the claimant
in contribution or to the prin�ipal parties of John F. Klaas
or Lincoln Transfer Company, in any manner.
Section 3. Said sum of $300.00 shall be paid to said
alaimant upon its execution and delivery of a release in full
to said City, in a form approved by the Corporation Counsel,
for a11 damages and in�uries sustained by them in the manner
aforesaid.
Section �-. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force thirty days after its passage, approval, and publication.
