Under direction, to be responsible for the maintenance and repair�,
of buildings� groundst and facilities of L-he Bureau of Parks and
Recreation; and to perform r�lated work as assigned.

To direct the maintenance and repair of the exterior o£ buildin�s.
' To dixect the maint�nance and repair of tlae interior of buildings
including pain.ting and car�entry znd the plumbinga electrical
and heating facilities.
To direct �tound maintenanc� of parks, golf courses, and playgYOUnds.
To iiispeci: buildings, gxounds, anc3 eq�iipment to determine when
repairs and alterations are necessary.
To estimate the cost of maint�nance and repair jobs and write� ',
specificatioi�N tlier�for.
To assign ancl direct the worlc o£ plumbers, painters, carpenters,
electricians, and ather craftsmen and laborers.
To as�ign and clirect the �vork of district fo�emen, groundsmen,
greenske�pers, �ruck drivers, mechanical equipment operators,
and other ground maint�nance personnel.
To pl�n and supervise the custodial work necessary for proper
cleanliness and sanitation oi buildingso
�'o staizdardiz� cleanin� maintenance procedures and use of
cleaning and maintenance materials.
To dir�ct the planting, fer�ilizingj care and maintenance of
lawns and grass areas,
To lay out, grade and mark playiilg fie].ds, tennis courts and
oth�r play areas. I
To direct the construction and maintenance of play equipxraent�
fencesF backstops, signs, walks, and otlzer necessary appurtenances.
To dir�ct tk�e snow plo`ving in the parks, parkz�ays, playgrounds,
walkst skating riuks and rhe necessary sanding and cind�ring.
To direct th� installation and maintenance of irrigation and. draina��
s ysterz�s.
To make up annual wor?c pF ograms and maiiltain a syst�in of
pr�ventiv� maint�nance for buildings and grounds.
To mak� unil; cost analyses and to determine budget requirements.
To axjake periodic inspections to see that the cl�anin� and maintenance
of buildings, main�enancP of grounds and the use of materials are
in accordaizce with established standards.
To sce that the time c�f all employees is properly acco�nted for�
satety measures �dhered to, and necassary training is accomglished.
Minimum qualifications:
College gradaation with a major in agricultural engineering, park
- manapement or related fielcl, and five years' experience in building
and grounds maintenance; or a Master's Degree in agricultural
�ngineeringD park managem�nt o�� related field9 atid three y�ars''
exp�rience in building and �rounds maintenanc�. (No substi�ution

To direct ground maintenance os parks, golf courses; and playgrounds.
To inspec� building�, grounds= and equipment to determine 4vhen
