D001295�o�fa�� � ''1 � City of Saint Paul Office of the Mayor - � t� .. ,., . : 1 u11►I Y: • Y�1_ 1;��4� No: ��E { c�..l Dat�: i � R � W�REAS, the City, the Capital City Partnership and the 5aint Faul Riverfront Corporation have funded the Sairtt Paul on the Misssissippi Developmettt Framework, a frainework that provides design principles for the future development of the City; and W�REAS, it is in the public interest to expose community members to this new FRAMEWOR% that w�l have a si�cant impact upon the future of the City; and WHEREAS, in order to present the FRAMEWOR%to the community, two public events were held on June 16, 1997 and June 17, 1997; and WHEREAS, these public events at Landmark Cemer and Harriet Island involved the expenditure of funds for presenting the FRAMEWORK; and WHEREAS, the eapenditures were for food, transportation, audio and visual equipment; etc; and WHEREAS, costs associated with the public presentations will be shared by the City and the Saint Paul Riverfrout Corporation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RE50LVED, that the proper City off'icals are hereby authorized to pay the expenses of the public events not to exceed $40,000. The events were hosted by Mayor Coleman, the City Council, the City Planning Commission, the Port Authority, the Capital City Partnership, the Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation and West Side Citizens Organization, A copy of the invitation is attached. The Framework presents a vision for the future of downtown, reconnectina downtown and the west side to the Mississippi River. The ten Framework design principles will apply throughout the city and will guide development and design decisions for the years to come. In addition to the citywide invitations for the Framework rollout, a second series ofFramework events will be held in each ofthe Councilmembers wards. Again, these wil] be public events and will have a public purpose. Funds supplied by the City and the 5aint Paul Riverfront Gorporation will pay for these Framework mini-events.
