THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Tha.t Ordinance No. 3Y.5:� approved August 20, 1g14, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out subsection B of Section 21, and by substituting in lieu thereof the following: "B Upon receipt of a requisition, the Commissioner shall, unless the vacancy is to be filled by reinstatement, transfer, or re- duction under the provisions of these Rules, certify to the appointing officer the names from the register of eligibles appropriate to the duties of the position to be filled, in the fo�bwing order: �(a} Promotion eligibles in the order of their sta.ndi.ng on the list after 5 points have been added to the scores of those claiming and entitled to Veteran PreferenCe;; ��tb�- Origin.al entrants cla.iming and entitled to Veteran Pxeference; (c} Original entra.n.ts other tha.n i.n (b�. If two eligible lists for the same class of position are in force, the second list shall be treated as a continuation of the first list. On all certifieations the names of the three persons atanding highest on the eligible list, in the order of_theix standing on said list, sha11 be certified, if there are three its the category from which certifica- ti.ons are to be made, in accordance with the provisions of thi.s section. From those certi.fied under �a� and �} above, the appoi.nting•officer shall fill the vacancy, regardless of the number of names ceria.fied.
