1 WHEREAS, tt�e St. Paul Police Department has received a grant from the State of Minnesota, Department of
2 Children, Families and Learning for the Cops 'N Kids program, and

4 WHEREAS, the Cops'N Kids program will create a safer community through repairing and restoring the
5 relationship between youth and law enforcement officers through workshops designed to explore
6 misperceptions, and
7
8 WHEREAS, the Police Department will need to rent space to hold these workshops, provide lunches and
9 refreshments to the participants of these workshops, and transportation costs ]f necessary.

11 WHEREAS, the St. Paul Police Department will designate participants to attend local training seminars, and
12 provide transportation, registration fees, lodging and meats, and

As part of the Cops `N Kids grant, the St. Pau1 Police Department wiil need to rent space, provide meals, refreshments,
and transportation to conduct workshops, In addition, the police deparhnent will designate participants to attend related
seminars, and provide registration fees, lodging, meals, and transportation.
The overall community and police deparhnent will benefit from the understanding of human behavior and
communication obtained through attendance and implementation of workshops and seminars. This understanding will
greatly enhance individual and-sociaY relationships that alleviate violence and strife in the community.
