THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIlV:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 3250, approved August 20,
1914, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by
inserizng in Section 6 under the heading "Professional Group", in
Grade 34 and Grade 38, respectively, the following titles:
Industrial Hygienist I
Industrial Hygienist II ;
a.nd by inserti.ng in said Section, under the heading "Professional Group",

Dear Commissioner Meredith:
Enclosed are ordinances relating to the establishment of a sera,es of
Tndustrial Hygi�nist titles. This is a result of our initial approach
to the Civil Service Bureau through you on July 17, 1970. Since the
writing of the July 17th letter, Mr. Geisen, who was assi.gned to our
Occupational Health and Safety Program, has left to become City Safety
Cocrdinator, and thus there is no on� presently employed in the pro-
gram.
We feel that the establishment of such a program for the City of Saint
Paul is long overdue and is especially more meaningful since the x�cent
passage by Congress of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
We have reviewed the ordinances and request that yon submit them to
the Cifiy Council. Will you please advise me as to what action is
taken.
