An ordinance approving th� project of ac-
quiring real estate in the City of Saint Paul
for the Frost Lake Recreation Site
THE COUNC2L OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Ccmnnissioner of Parks and Recreation and
Public Buildir�s� ha,ving reported to the Council that the r�al estate
described as: Lots 16� 17� 18� 21� and 22, Block 38� Mayfield's
Subdivision of Lots 37 and 38� Pioneer Real Estate and Building Society's
Subdivision, Saint Paul. Also the East 60 feet of Lot 39, the Pioneer
Real Es�at� and Building Society Subdivision of N. z of N.W. ,�—� Sec. 22�
T.29, R. 22, except the North 1�+1 feet and except the South 426.60 feet
thereof, is required. by the Department of Pa,rks and Recreation and Public
Buildings for the Frost Lake Recreation Site; tha.t the estimated cost of
the acquisition of said real estate is $73,200.00, and that the Comptroller
has certified to the Council the manner in which the Punds may b� mad�
available; that the Council hereby approves the proj�et for the acquisition
of the said real estate for the aforesaid purpose and directs that the
same be acquired for such purpose by the Committee on Lands consisting of
the Mayor, th� Purcha.sing Agent� the Commissioner of Fina.nce, and the
Commissioner of Pa.rks and Recreation and Publie Buildings, if the same can
be aequired by purcha.se at a reasonable price, and it shall so report to
the Council the cos�t ther�of, provided, havrever, that in case the Coimnitte�
on Lands cannot procure ar�y or all of said land at a reasonable price� then
it sha11 so report to the Council� and in that event� the Council hereby
orders and 8irects that condemnation proceedings be instituted under the
provisions of the ���y Charter to secure said real �sta.te.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
thirty (30) days from and after its passa�e� approval and publication,

The Frost Lake recreation site requires the acquisition of the
properties described as follows:
Lots 16, 17, 18, 21, aud 22, Block 38, I�Iayfield' s Sub�division
of Lots 37 and 38, Pioneer Real Estate and Building Society's
Subdivisioa, Sai.nt Paul. AlsO the East 60 feet of Lot 39, the
Pioneer &eal Estate and Building Society Subdivision of N. 1� of
N.W. �4 Sec. 22, T.29, 8. 22, except the North 141 feet and except
the South 426.6� feet thereof.
Funds for the above acquisition w�re approved in the Capital Im-
provement Budget for 19?0 in the amount of $60,000 for the final
acquisition a8 described above. Application is now pending for
the third and final request in the amount o�' x18�,265.66 aad
�21,525 respectively.
It is requested that the Council take the necessary action to
authorize the acquisition program necessary for the Frost Lake
recreation site development.
