for the Prosperity Pa.rk
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That th� Co�mmissioner of Pa.rks and Recreation and
Public Buildings, having reported to the Council that the real estate
described as: Except N. 33 ft. for Ave.; W2 of NE4 of SW,�—� o�' SE,�—� of
See. 22, T.29� R.22� and Sub� to Ivy Ave. ; the E. 38.�-2 ft. o�' N.
166.3 ft. of NE,�—� of NW,�—� of SWu of SE,�—� of Sec. 22� T. 29� R. 22, and
Th� SEu of 19W,i—, of SW,�—� of SE1 of Sec. 22� T.29, R. 22� and Ex. Aae. the
W 1 acre of E 4 acres of SW� of SW4 of SE1 of Sec. 22� T.29, R. 22� and
Ex. N. �66.3 ft. ancl ex. W. 10 ft; the NE��—, of NWu of SWu of SE4 of Sec.
22, T. 29, R. 22, is required by the Department of Park� and Reereation
and Public Buildings for the Prosperity Paxk Site; that the esti.mated cost
of the acquisition of said real estate is $110,Q00.00, and that the
Comptroller ha.s eertified to the Council the manner in which the flands
may be made available; that th� Council hereby approves the project for
the acquisition of the said real estat� for the aforesaid purposc and
directs that the same be acquir�d for such purpos� by the Cammittee on
Lands consisting of the Mayor� the Purchasing Agent� th� Commissioner of
Financ�, and the Commissioner of Parks and. Recreation and Publie Buildings,
if the same can be acquired by purchase at a reasonable price, and it shall
so r�port to the Council the cost thereof, provided, hawever, that in case
the Co�nitte� on I,ands cannot procure any or a11 of said land at a reasonable
price, then it shall so report to the Council, and in that event, the Council
hereby orders and directs that condemnation proceedin�s be inst3.tuted. under
the provisions of the City Charter to seeure said r�a1 estate.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effeet and be in force thirty
(3�) days f`rom and after its passage� approval and publication.

Funds for the acquisition of Prosperity Park are from 1971 C.I.B.
in the amount of $'�5,000. The federal grant is in the amount of
557,481.
It is requested that the Council take the necessary action to auth-
orize the acquisition program necessary for the Prosperity Park
development.
