1 WHEREAS, The St Paui Police Department is seeldng endorsement to sponsor a Police Memorial Day
2 ceremony and reception on Wednesday, May 15, 1996 at 12:00 p.m. in Mears Park. In case of inclement
3 weather, it will be held in Crditier Plaza_ This is in conjunction with National Police Memorial Week, a
4 celebration of law enforcement throughout the United States.

The purpose of our ceremony is to honor all the St. Paul Police Officers who have given their lives in the
line of duty. The surviving families of aur officers aze personally invited to share in this solemn
e�cpression of reverence. This event is also open to the general public.
NOW, '�RF.FORE BE TT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to pay for
the costs of refreshments, serving and eating utensiLs, decorations and other miscellaneous elcpenses
relatad to the above mentioned ceremony, not to excced $500.00 .
