THE COUNCiL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1 . . That Ordinance No. 15007, adopted January 4, 1972, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by inserting the following and in tieu of Section 1 contained in said Ordinance No. 15007: Section l . In accordance with the provision of Chapter 319 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, as amended, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby establish rates for solid waste collection to be performed by the Department of Public Works, which rates are as follows: a) One-family dwelling with no limit on the nurhber of containers, bags, and bundles per week, $1 .10 each week. b) Two-family dwelling with no limit on the number of containers, bags, and bundles per week, $1 .70 each week. c) Three-family dwelling with no limit on the number of containers, bags, and bundles per week, $2.30 each week. d) Four-family dwelling with no limit on the number of containers, bags, and bundles per week, $2.90 each week. e) Bulk pickups from commercial , institutions, and other establish- ments, $4.50 each cu. yd. or f ract ion thereof. The City Council shall subsidize the difference be- tween the 45t rate and the $1 .10 rate, (65t) per one-family dwelling per week, 45� each week. h) Pickup from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority, the Inde- pendent School District No. 625, and Parks and Playgrounds and other governmental agencies on a force account basis, subject to negotiation with the Department of Public Works and approval by Council Resolution. Total estimated cost is $920,734.00. Total estimated revenues at present rates is $641 ,961 .60 and the subsidy for quali- fying units is $193,463.40, a total of $835,380.00. I am, therefore, suggest- ing a rate increase of $. 10 per unit. Suggested new rates are as fotlows: Subsidized Unit Rate $ .45 per week 1 Unit Dwelling 1 . 10 per week 2 Unit Owelling 1 .70 per week 3 Unit Dwelling 2.30 per week 4 Unit Dwelling 2.90 per week The rates will raise estimated revenues of $727,271 .00. This estimated amount plus the estimated subsidy amount ($193,463.00) will provide $920,734.00 for the operation in 1975• I have attached a resolution setting a hearing on these new rates and an ordinance which sets the rates.
