Grittner, Karns, McGinley and Summers, and Messrs. Humner, Panga and Bryan of the Current Planning & Zoning Comnittee; Mr. Robert Straughn, Assistant City Attorney; Mr. Richard Amey of the Division of Housing & Building Code Enforcement; Nknes. McNeally and Fox and Mr. Edward J. Warn of the Planning Staff. The meeting was chaired by James Bryan, Chairman. HOUSING & REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (#8242): A petition to rezone from RM-1 and RM-2 to B-2 property locate on t e sout side of East Robie between State & Ada. The petitioner was present. There was no opposition. I Mr. Warn showed slides of the subject site and read the staff report. ' Larry represented HRA. He said Henly Furniture was the original petitioner. He said the HRA staff supports what had been contained in the staff report read by Mr. Warn. He said there+is a need for off-street parking for proposed and existing businesses fronting on Concord. He said parking facilities for the site will not be an imposition on the neighborhood providing appropriate screening is done around the perimeter of the lot. Mr. Hummer remarked that this seemed like a candidate for P-1 parking district, but Mr. .Warn said P-1 would restrict the site only to parking and in addition the short form petition did not allow P-l . Ms. Grittner said she was familiar with the area and moved to recomnend approval ' of the rezoning to B-2. Her motion was seconded by Mr. Pangal and passed on a 7 to 0 roll call vote. Robie between State and Ada from RM-1 and RM-2 (low density multiple family) to B-2 (community business). This matter was heard before the Current Planning & Zoning Committee on December l , 1977 at wlaich time staff recommended that the petitioner's request be granted. Ms. Grittner moved to recommend approval of the request to rezone to B-2. Mr. Panagal seconded her motion and it passed on a 7 to 0 roll call vote. On December 2, 1977 the Planning Commission unanimously confirmed the recomnendation of the Current Planning & Zoning Committee. There was no opposition. j Mr. Warn showed slides of the subject site and read the staff report. � i , Larry represented HRA. He said Henly Furniture was the original °� petitioner. He said the HRA staff supports what had been contained in the staff report read by Mr. Warn. He said there�is a need for off-street parking for proposed and existing businesses fronting on Concord. He said parking facilities for the site will not be an imposition on the neighborhood providing appropriate screening is done around the perimeter of the lot. Mr. Hummer remarked that this seemed like a candidate for P-1 parking district, but Mr. Warn said P-1 would restrict the site only to parking and in addition the short form petition did not allow P-1 . Ms. Grittner said she was familiar with the area and moved to recommend approval of the rezoning to B-2. Her motion was seconded by Mr. Pangal and passed on a 7 to 0 roll call vote.
