An ordinance amending Chapter 290 of the Saint
Paul Legislative Code pertaining to the Public
Market.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
Section 290.06 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
290.06--Rentals.
Stalls upon said market may be rented for one year
or any less period, singly or in groups. Any farmer or
market gardener or association thereof who has a
Producer' s Certificate shall make application for stall
space to the Market Director, specifying the number and
location thereof. The Market Director, upon receipt of
payment of stal� rental, shall forthwith deliver to each
applicant a receipt which shall entitle the holder to the
use of the stall or stalls therein described for the peri-
od specified. The Market Director shall also grant
applications for stall or stalls or other services at the
market for any other period desired in accordance with
the schedule herein set forth.
Market Season. The market season shall be deemed to
extend from May 1 to October 31, both dates inclusive, of
each year. Rental of stall space and scale weight charges
shall be as follows:

2.
(1) Season growers market permit shall be $6A.-A9
7$ 5.00 per stall payable on or before July lst if made
in one payment or $66:AA 9$ 0.00 per season payable $��.-A8
l,� 5.00 per month covering 6-month market season from May
lst to October 31st. Final payment due October lst.
Monthly permits $�9:89 2� 5.00 per month. Daily permits
$2.00 per day. It shall be unlawful for any grower to
use the facilities of the loading dock or that area for
the delivery of farm products direct to the purchaser
thereof without securing one of the above permits.
(2) Rental of space from November 1 to April 30 of
each year shall be $1.25 per day.
(3) Scale weight charges shall be $�rA9 $1.50 per
load for all vehicles.
(4) Charges for stall use for Christmas tree stalls
during the month of December and for such use of the load-
ing dock, other than loading produce purchased from growers
on the market, as is deemed necessary and proper, and truck
storage in area specifically designated by the Market
Director shall be fixed by the Market Director with the
approval of the Director of the Department of Community
Services.
Rentals ���_-stalls for seasonal activities such as
sale of plants and flowers during the months of May and
June shall be at the regular rate of $��:SA 20.00 per
month� for regular market hours and an additional rate for
time on market beyond regular hours shall be fixed by the
Market Director with the approval of the Dir ector of the
Department of Community Services.
(5) Rental shall in all cases be payable in advance
according to the above schedule. No credit shall be ex-
tended. Default in payment of rent shall immediately
terminate all rights of the lessee to the stall or stalls
�ented without other or further notice.

Section 2.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30)
days from and after its passage, approval and publication.

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE COUNTY OF RAMSEY,
MINNESOTA, TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A LOADIN6
DOCK ON THE EAST SIDE OF WASHINGTON STREET BETWEEN WEST
FIFTH STREET AND WEST SIXTH STREET ADJACENT TO THE OLD
FEDERAL COURTS BUI�.DiNG.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1 .
That permission and authority are hereby granted to the County of
Ramsey, Minnesota, to construct, operate and maintain a loading dock on
the east side of Washington Street between West Fifth Street and West
Sixth Street adjacent to the Old Federal Courts Building.
Section 2.
That the Director of the Department of Public Works is hereby autho-
rized to issue a permit to the County of Ramsey for the construction, oper-
ation and maintenance of said loadi�g dock upon and snbJect to the following
tenns and conditions:
a. That said permittee shatl construct said loading dock entirely at
its own expense, under the supervision and to the satisfaction of
the Department of Public Works and in acco�dance with the approved
pians and specifications of said permittee on file in th� �epartment
of Public Works and identified as Public Works Project Number E-1260;
b. That said permittee expressly agrees and undertakes to mai�tain said
loading dock in proper condition and to keep the sa�ae free and clear
of any obstacles or snaa;

c. That said permittee shall pay the cost for publication of this
Ordinance and all resolutions passed in relation to said Ordi-
nances;
d. That said permittee shall pay the cost of administration, engi-
neering and inspection incurred by the Department of Public Works
because of this undertaking. Said costs are estimated as a sum
of Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) to be accounted for under De-
partment of Public Works Project Number E-1260;
e. That said permittee expressly agrees and undertakes to fully in-
demnify, hold harmiess and defend the City of Saint Paul , its
agents, officers and e�ployees from any and all damages, ciaims,
losses, judgments, suits or expenses arising out of or occasioned
by the construction, operation, maintenance, presence or removai
of said loading dock and by the permission and authority g�anted
herein;
f. That said permittee shall , during the term of this permit, restore
and repair all property whether public or private, damaged, or
which may be damaged due to the construction, operation, maintenance
or presence of said loading dock provided for herein;
g. That said permittee shall remove said loading dock in a manner satis-
factory to the Department of Public Works, whe�ever in the opinion
of the City Council the public necessities or the public interest
requires such removal ;
h. That said permittee shall coordinate all work involving existing
utility installations, public or private with the affected utility
company or agency;
i . That said permittee expressly agrees to comply with Chapter 216 of
the Saint Paul Legislative Code, as amended, pertaining to street
obstructions, in the prosecution of any operations involving the
construction, maJor maintenance and/or removal of said loading dock;
J. That said permittee shall notify the Construction Engineer of the
Department of Public Works when the construction starts and notify
the same said Construction Engineer when the project has been com-
pleted to allow for a final inspection;
k. That said permittee shall furnish the Depa�tment of Public Works
all documents of record that are part of the contract or incidental
to its execution including but not limited to addendums, "as built"
plans, tracings and shop drawings involving facitities within public
street right-of-way;
