An ordinance amending Chapter 353 of the
Leqislative Code pertaining to firewood sold
in qrocery stores.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOFsS ORDA=N:
Section 1.
That Section 353.02 of the Legislative Coc1e is hereby amended
to read as follows:
353.02. License Required. No person shall sell or offer
for sale within the City of Saint Paul, any fuel, or ad-
vertise or in any manner represent or hold himself out as
one who sells or offers for sale at retail any fuel, with-
out first having obtainecl a license so to do from the City
Council of said City, provided, however, that this section
shall not apply to persons employed as solicitors or sales-
men for fuel dealers duly licensed under this ordinance;
provided, further, that this section shall not apply to

Section 2 .
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty (30)
days from and after its passaqe, approval and publication.

� Attaehed is an ordinance �i�ich will be introduced on
Tuesday, May 8, 1979. The intent of the amendment is to allow
: small businesspersons, such as the one who visited my office
last fall, to sell small batches of firewood at quick-stop
grocery stores. Such stores are able to sell artificial
firewood but were receiving tags for offering bona fide logs.
