AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL, PROVIDING STREET SERVICES AND
REVISIONS IN THE SCHEDULED CHARGES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
SUCH SERVICES, AMENDING SECTIONS 248.16, 248.17� 248.19� 248.20
AND 248.22 OF THE SAINT PAUL LEGISLATIVE CODE:
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1 .
That Sections 248.16� 248.17� 248.19� 248.20 and 248.22
of the Saint Paul Legislative Code are hereby amended to
read as follows:
248.16 Schedule Prices of Service Connections and Fire Services shall be
in accordance with attached TABLE I.
NOTE: The following provisions apply to TABLE I.
Charges for services in a cul-de-sac are to be based on a street
width equivalent to 75% of the cul-de-sac diameter.
If a street has two (2) mains on opposite sides of the street�
the schedule for street of one-half the width shall be utilized
to establish the charge� but in no case 5ha11 the charge be less
than the charge for a 60-foot street.
For second pipe in same ditch� the charge shall be ��� s€ �ke
seke�t��ed ees� s€ �ke �esse� a�se g�ge. in accordance with
attached TABLE I.
Where excavation and backfilling is provided by others� the charge
shall be ��� e€ �ke sekeda�e�l ese�. the schedule for second pipe in
same ditch in accordance with attached TABLE I.
Where an open cut is not permitted in a street by a governmental unit;
and� consequently� a casing tube is required for the service

and provide the casing tube and casing tube installation� all at
the owner�s sole expense.
248.17 Charges for Tumble Rock
Charges for tumble rock shall be in accordance with attached TABLE II.
248.19 Cost of Pavement Repair
Where service connections are installed or repaired in streets which
require the opening of pavement� charges shown in attached TABLE II
shall be added to the schedule� cost of all services.
248.20 Frost Charges
Where it is necessary to cut frost in excavating a trench� the charges
shall be in accordance with attached TABLE II. .
248.22 Cut Off Charges
Where it is necessary to cut off any domestic or commercial service
connection� the charge shall be in accordance with the attached TABLE III�.

SECTION 2
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its
passage� approval and publication.
SECTION 3
This ordinance shall be deemed a part of the Saint Paul Legislative Code
and shall be incorporated therein and given an appropriate chapter and/or
section number at the time of the next revision of the said �,egislative Code.

by City Oxdinance 16430 provides for scheduled charges for street
services of 3/4-inch through 8•inch in size; and actual cost €or
servfces lar,ger than 8-inch� and, for rock� for tu�nble rock, for
co:t of pav�ment r�pair, for cha:rges necessary to bre�k frost in
excavating a tren�h and foz cut-off charges; and

that date� Che costa of materials, equipment and labor has increased
considerably; and

Code.
