1. Proposed concrete walks designated to be colored, yet no specific color was indicated.
2. Following removal of the old concrete walk along 5th St., an area of non-draining subsoil was discovered.
3. Proposed widening of the sidewalks along 5th and Wacouta Streets required excavation of adjacent slopes.
ADVANTAGES IF APPROVED:
1. Provision of actual formed and colored concrete samples, to allow selection of correct concrete color.
2. Poor soil needed to be removed and a drain system with new free-draining material installed to prevent future
failure of sidewalk along 5th St.
3. A retaining wall was required along 5th and Wacouta Streets to stabilize excavated slopes and allow for installation
o# a new wider sidewalk.
