An ordinance amending the text of various provisions
of the Saint Paul Zoning Code; amending Chapters 60,
61, 62, 63, 64 and 65 of the St. Paul Legislative
Code.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
That the definitions of ��multiple-family dwelling�� and
��townhouse dwelling�� under Section 60.204 of the Saint Paul
Legislative Code be and the same hereby are amended to read
as follows:
Dwelling, multi�le-family. A building, or portion
thereof, designed exclusively for occupancy by
���e three or more families living independently
of each other.
Dwelling, townhouse. A one-family dwelling unit,
with a private ��e��-a��-�e��-e�.��a�eee entrance,
which is part of a m������e-�a���3�-�;,re����� structure
whose dwelling units are attached hor�zontally in a
linear arrangement, separated from other dwelling
units by a fire wall or wa11s extending from foundation
through the roof with no openings, and having a
totally exposed front and rear wall to be used for
e�.��3� access, light, and ventilation.
Section 2.
That Section 60.206 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code �
be and the same hereby is amended by inserting therein, in
proper alphabetical order, the following definition:

supplement, or change the district boundaries or
the regulations herein, or subsequently established
herein pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota
Statutes 462.35? and amendments thereto as may be
made from time to time. The city council shall
provide for an adequate review and re-evaluation
o� this code at least every five years from the
time of adoption of this code. The planning
commission s�a��-a��a��� may, Yrom time to .time,
review district boundary lines to determine if,
pursuant to state laws, such district boundary
lines should be changed.

Modifications granted by the planning commission
shall be consistent with the general purposes of
the standards contained in this chapter a.nd state
law and the intent of applicable state and national
laws and programs. Although modifications may be
used to modify permissible methods oY flood protec-
tion, no modification shall have the effect oY allowing
in any district uses prohibited in that district,
permit a lower degree of �lood protection than the
flood protection elevation for the particular area,
or permit a lesser degree .of flood protection than
r.equired:by state la�v. Appeals Yrom the decision
oY the planning commission may be taken to the city
council in accordance with Section 64.205.
