THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That because the City of Saint Paul vacated the westerly one- half of Market Street between Kellogg Boulevard and Spring Street by Resolution C.F. 264737, adopted December 12, 1974, subject to retained easements, terms and conditions, the necessity for per- mission of the City to NSP to operate and maintain a�iliary apparatus of its power plant no longer exists, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby repeal Ordinance No. 13499, adopted December 16, 1966, as amended by Ordinance No. 15021, adopted January 5, 1972. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty days from and after its passage, approval and publication. Since 1966 and 1972 when the ordinances were approved, Northern States P�rer along with West Publishing Compar�y petitioned the City to vacate Market Street adjacent to their property. ' In �974, the City officially va,cated interest in the lea.sed area. Said ' Council action wa.s implemented by C.F. 264737, approved December 12, 1q74, and, in effect, released Northern States Power of ar�y ftaxther renta.l payments per the referenced ordinances. With that as ba.ckground, I am proposing that the City officially repeal the referenced ordinances since their affect is no longer relevant.
