FORGIVE ALL PARKING TICKETS ISSUED AND REINIBURSE
FINES PAID FOR EXIPIRED Pt1RKING METERS ON JULY 3, 1998
1 WHEREAS, media reports stated that parking meters in the City of Saint Paul were not enforced on July
2 3, 1998; and
3 WHEREAS, based on media reports, numerous Saint Paul cifizens and visitors mistakenly failed to deposit
4 money into parking meters on 7uly 3, 1998 and subsequently received tickets from the City of Saint Paul;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul desires to continue to be a welcoming destination for vistors; and
7 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul does not wish to benefit financially from the confusion about meter
8 enforcement on July 3, 1998; now therefore let it be
9 RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council requests the Mayor's Office to direct the Saint Paul Police
10 Department and the Saint Paul City Attorney's Office to work with the Ramsey County Traffic and
11 Violation's Bureau to forgive all Uckets issued on July 3,1998 for expired pazking meters and to reimburse
12 all individuals who have paid fines that resulted from tickets issued on July 3, 1998 for expired parking
13 meters.
