2 WhTEREAS, the quality of life in a community is supported and greatly enhanced by stability and
3 constancy of its key institutions, and

5 N»HEREAS, no community institution is more fundamental than the family, and family stability is
6 increasingly threatened by a wide variety of stresses and strains in today's society, which makes
7 cohesive and enduring fa.milies more valuable not only to family members but to the entire
8 community, und

10 A�HEREAS, one means by which families celebrate their success in remaining a unit ' through
11 weddi.ng anniversaries, and a SOth or "golden" wedding anniversary is a particularly ' portant
12 landmark, and

14 WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate for the community to celebrate a den anniversary along
15 with the family of the long-married couple, because of the many benefi o the community of the
16 stable family unit, and

18 A�hIEREAS, each month several Saint Paul families celebrate gol n anniversaries, and

20 A�HEREAS, one of those families who has celebrated a golde anniversary is the family of James L.
21 and Audrey C. Schultz, who were married on September 2 , 1941, now therefore be it

Both were bom in St. Paul.
James worked for 3M for 28 years and has been retired for 7 years. He did Sa1es &
Maxketing work. Due to Jim's work, they lived in various towns; such as Los Angeles,
New York, and Jackson & New Orleans, Mississippi. They retumed to St. Paul and
have lived in their current house for 21 years.
Audrey graduated from St. Josephs & St. Catherine's and she enjoys doing volunteer
sorority work.
They have three children: Pamela Schultz Plain (Mrs. Charles) Craig Schultz and his
wife Carolyn, Debra Schultz Santanna (Mrs. David) and 1 grandson (Lincoln Matthew,
who is in college at Stout - he is 21 years old.
They are active in their church, which is Nativity.
Jim does volunteer work at 3M in sales & marketing.
