R :j � council File � -���a�" � e .u �:+M 'ti _.� ��' Green Sheet �` RESOLUTION CITY OF AINT PAUL, MINNESOTA � � � Presented By U � � � Referred To Committee: Date 1 WHEREAS, substance abuse in this nation has reached epidemic stages; and 2 3 WHEREAS, the 15 to 24-year-old age group is dying at a rate faster than any other age group as a 4 direct result of the misuse or abuse of chemical substances; and 5 6 WHEREAS, November 8 through 15 has been declared MINNESOTA CHEMICAL HEALTH 7 WEEK; and 8 9 WHEREAS, 1'he Saint Paul School District is sponsoring events and activities to educate students 10 and encourage them to pledge a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle; and 11 12 WHEREAS, business, government, law enforcement, schools, religious institutions, service 13 organizations, youth, physicians, senior citizens, military, sports teams, and individuals in 14 Minnesota will demonstrate their commitment to drug free, healthy lifestyles by wearing and 15 displaying red ribbons during this week-long campaign; now, therefore, be it 16 17 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby declare the week of 18 November 8 through 15 CHEMICAL HEALTH WEEK in Saint Paul; and be it further 19 20 RESOLVED, that the Council encowages city employees and Saint Paul citizens to participate in 21 drug prevention education activities and to make a visible statement that we are strongly committed 22 to working toward a drug free community; and be it further 23 24 RESOLVED, that city employees and city residents are encouraged to pledge: 25 26 MY CHOICE ...
