Presented By Referred To Committee: Date Whereas, the quality of life in a community is supported and greatly enhanced by stability and constancy of its key institutions, and Whereas, no community institution is more fundamental than the family, and family stability is increasingly threatened by a wide variety of stresses and strains in today's society, which makes cohesive and enduring families more valuable not only to family members but to the entire community, and Whereas, one means by which families celebrate their success in � remaining a unit is through wedding anniversaries, and SOth or "golden"wedding anniversaries are a particularly important landmark, and Whereas, it is fitting and appropriate for the community to celebrate a golden anniversary along with the family of the long-married couple, because of the many benefits to the community of the stable family unit, and Whereas, each month several Saint Paul families celebrate golden � anniversaries, and Whereas, one of those families who will celebrate a golden anniversary this month is the family of James T. and Lavinia S. Murray, who were married on September 27, 1941, now therefore be it ����Of[ �IEy'�� � � �'r �/�l(✓I- Yv ` v� Resolved, that the Saint Paul City Council each month will recognize long-established families by proclaiming the golden anniversaries of couples who live in Saint Paul, and by congratulating and commending such families for their contributions to the community,and be it further Resolved, that the City Council encourages persons in the community who know of upcoming golden anniversaries to convey this information to the City Council, so that as many golden anniversaries as possible can be recognized each month, and be it further Resolved, that to initiate this process the City Council congratulates James T. and Lavinia S. Murray on the occasion of their golden anniversary, and thanks the Murrays for their contributions to Saint Paul through the quality of their family life and their participation in civic affairs.
