1 WHEREAS, the City Council in Council Resolution #90-2076 has directed that Council Research
2 staff may enter into negotiations with Continental Cablevision for the purpose of determining
3 whether proposed modifications or enforcement of the franchise could address the points of
4 difference between the staff report and Continental's position, as directed by the Council, and
5
6 WHEREAS, Council Research staff may, during the course of these negotiations, require technical
7 assistance from experts in the field of cable television, and
8
9 WHEREAS, funds are available for this purpose in Budget Activity 31120 (Cable T'V Legislative
10 Operations), now therefore be it
11
12 RESOLVED, that the Director of Council Research is authorized to contract with such e�cperts in
13 the field of cable television as may be necessary to assist with negotiations with Continental
14 Cablevision, and be it further
15
16 RESOLVED, that such contracts shall be in accordance with applicable City policies and shall not
17 exceed a total of�.7-��
