98-548Council File # �� i�i � � 1�7�}�t � � RESOLUTION Presented Referred To MINNESOTA 33 i WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Radio Club has more than 2001icensed amateur radio operators who have demonstrated 2 their value in public assistance and by providing emergency radio communications; and 3 WHEREAS, these amateur radio operators have increased awazeness of the City of Saint Paul for more than 60 4 years through the operation of their radio station KOAGF; and 5 WHEREAS, these amateur radio operators are on alert for any emergency, local or world-wide, and practice their 6 communication skills during the American Radio Relay I.eague Field Day exercise; and 7 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Radio Club will represent the citizens of Saint Paul during this year's Amateur Radio 8 Field Day on June 27-28, 1998; 9 NOW, THEREFORE, t}te Saint Paul City Council hereby declares the week of June 28 - July 3, 1998, as Amateur 10 Radio Week in recognition of this important emergency preparedness exercise, calling on amateur radio operators 11 of our City to continue their volunteer efforts on behalf of all citizens and encouraging a11 citizens to appropriately 12 recognize the contributions of our amateur radio operators.
