At the directi n of the St. Paul Police Department, Ms. Noga had, for approximate y three weeks prior to the attack, been tape recording teleph e conversations which she was having with Stuart Knowlton in an attempt to get him to repeat a prior confession he had made to her f having killed had thrown into a ADVANTAGESIFn�uRr�i�gter. Knowlton had discovered that Ms. Nog was in contact , with the police. During the attack, Knowlton c t Ms. Noga' s face, severing a nerve controlling her right eyelid, tabbed her in the neck, cut open her neck, severing her carotid a tery, her jugular vein and her esophagus , cut open her wrist and tabbed her numerous other times. Ms. Noga retains the scars and ot er disabilities . that resulted from these wounds.
