JUNE 20, 1998 CAPITAL CITY PRIDE DAY
WHEREAS, Saint Paul is richly endowed with a great diversity of people, cultures, lifestyles and
languages; and
3 WHEREAS, the strength of democratic society must be based upon equal participation without prejudice of
4 all people in the social, economic and polirical activiries of the community; and
Wf�REAS, members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender community have made significant
contribution towazd the enhancement of our quality of life through acrive involvement in the economic,
cultural and civic progress of Saint Paul; and
8 WHEREAS, members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexuai, Transgender community have joined with many
9 others in actively working and plamiing to meet the challenges facing us all in making Saint Paul a better
10 place to live and work;
11 NOW, TF�REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council on this, the second anniversary
12 of Capital City Pride Day and the Twenty-Sixth anniversary of Stonewall and the Twin Cifies Pride
13 Celebrarion, does hereby declare
14 The Month of 7une 1998 to be CAPITAL CITY PRIDE MONTH, and
15 Saturday, June 20, 1998 to be CAPITAL CITY PRIDE DAY.
