3 WHEREAS, 1991 marks the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Lyngblomsten
4 Foundation; and
5
6 WHEREAS, in the past 85 years, Lyngblomsten has grown from a sma11 single building with
7 47 residents to a major care facility serving over 370 residents in the care center and independent
8 living apartments; and
9
10 WHEREAS, Lyngblomsten also serves many additional Saint Paul Seniors and assists those
11 who wish to continue living independently through the RAP Senior Dining Program, which has
12 served over 700 individuals this year alone, the Health Service programs, and educational and _
13 recreational programs which have grown over the years; and
14
15 WHEREAS, Lyngblomsten helps other Saint Paul neighbors by operating a clothing drop-off
16 to serve refugee families; and
17
18 WHEREAS, Lyngblomsten's philosophy of providing care tailored to individual needs and
19 promoting strong family values helps make Como Park a better neighborhood; now, therefore
20
21 BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby congratulates and
22 thanks the Lyngblomsten Foundation for 85 years of valuable service.
