98-515ORIGINAI- � Presented by Referred To coun�il File # 98 Green Sheet # j0 � � 9 RESOLUTION OF SAfNT PAUL, MINNESOTA � � � [ 1 SI U 4:. �� 1 WHEREAS, the Boazd of Ramsey County Commissioners recently held a policy discussion regarding Counry 2 involvement in soccer facilities, and 3 � WHEREAS, soccer is rapidly growing in popularity among Saint Paul youngsters, and WF�REAS, the City of Saint Paul does not have the facilities to accommodate this growth in popularity, and S WHEREAS, many community groups, athletic organizations, City o�cials, 5aint Paul School District officials and 6 concerned parents have been working diligenfly to solve the shortage of soccer facilities, and 7 WHEREAS, it is clear that a wide-ranging approach will be necessary to bring these efforts to fruition; now, 8 therefote, be it 9 RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council requests the assistance of Ramsey County to help locate, acquire, or 10 construct adequate soccer facilities to accommodate the growth of youth soccer within Saint Paul, and be it further 11 RESOLVED, that the Ciry Council reqnests that the Mayar's Adsninistration and the Parks and Recreation 12 Department work with proper Ramsey County officials and the Boazd of Ramsey Counry Commissioners to locate, 13 acquire or construct soccer facilities within Saint Paul.
