1 RESOLVED, that upon execurion and delivery of a release in fuil to the Ciry of Saint Paul, the
2 proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to pay from the Tort Liability Fund,
3 09081-0511, to 7udy Brown and her attorney, Elizabeth Row, the sum of $1b,000.00 in fuil

setdement of Ms. Brown's personal injury claim for injuries sustained on September 23, 1996
as a result of an accident with a Ciry-supervised llama at the Renaissance Fesuval.
Ms. Brown's medical bills total $6163.35 to date. She continues to treat for injuries sustained
as a result of this accident. She has received two steroid injecrions, with only temporary
success. Ms. Brown has been diagnosed with a bulging disc and possible rupture atthe LS-S1
area of her back. Her neurologist states that Ms. Brown may need surgery if her symptoms
worsen. Ms. Brown's physical activities have been significantly limited as a result of this
accident. Aer husband's potential claun for loss of consortium has also been released as a part
of this settlement.

On September 23, 1996 a Como Park Zoo docent was supervising the activities of a Ilama at the
Renaissance Festivai. The Ilama broke loose from the docent and ran into Judy Brown. Ms.
Brown was knocked to the ground and injured her back. I have reached a settlement with Ms.
Brown's attorney in the amount of $16,000.00.
