CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA
Committee Date
1 WHEREAS, Rabbi Stacy Offner has a long history of service to the greater St. Paul community;
2 and
3 WHEREAS, Rabbi Offner was the first female Rabbi in Minnesota; and
4 WAEREAS, Rabbi Offner has been a leader in the area of civil rights and social justice in
5 Minnesota and throughout the United States; and
6 WHEREAS, Rabbi Offner has been a bold spokesperson and leader in the quest for peace in the
7 Middle East; and
8 WHEREAS, Rabbi Offner has been the spiritual leader for thousands of people throughout the
9 Twin Cities; and
10 WHEREAS, Rabbi Offner is celebrating her 10` anniversary as Rabbi at Shir Tikvah Synagogue.
11 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council hereby proclaims
12 Monday May 11, 1998 to be "Stacy Offner Day" in Saint Paul.
