WI�REAS, the RiverCentre Authority, the Saint Paul Convention and Visitors' Bureau
and possible corporate sponsors aze contributing a mixture of public and private funds to defray
the expenses for a grand opening gala at the RiverCentre to inaugurate the completion of the
expansion and remodeling of the RiverCentre complex; and
WFI�REAS, the grand opening gala is set far Tuesday, May 19, 1948, and the invitation
list includes approxiinately 2,000 persons or organizations; and
WFIEREAS, it is of great civic and community interest that the grand opening be well
attended and garner the lazgest possible attendance and publicity in the fiirtherance of future
business being done at RiverCentre; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate that free invitations will be extended to
persons who are local officials within the meaning of Minn.Stat. 471.895; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby accept the private
donations of funds as well as the certain number of no charge invitations for use by local
officials; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the RiverCentre Authority is hereby authorized and
directed to use the private funds in aid of the grand opening, and to make available the no charge
invitations to such local officials as may be appropriate for this event; and, be it
