98-241Council File # ��' e1� t ORIGINAL Presented By Referred To RESOLUTION � MINNESOTA Committee: Date 12 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 0 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 WHEREAS, Saint Paul City Charter § 5.02 permits the City, upon recommendation of the City Attorney and in the case of special or unusual circumstances, to appoint outside counsel to represent the Ciry; and WHEREAS, special and unusual conditions exist in the matter of the condemnation and taking of certain property owned by Plastics, Inc. for the new Science Museum project including the construction of Eagle Parkway due to the availability of City Attomey staff to represent the City in this matter given the very short period of time in which the subject property must be acquired; and WHEREAS, the Ciry Attorney has recommended the appointment of outside counsel far this matter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the law firm of Dougherty, Rumble and Butler be retained and appointed to represent the City in the matter of the condemnation and taking of certain property owned by Plastics Inc. for the New Science Museum Project and for the construction of Eagle Parkway.
