Whereas, The S� Paul Police Department Juvenile Unit is seeking endorsement to sponsor a gaduatian
awards banquet at the Timmy I.ee Recreation Center, 1063 Iglehart Avenue an Saturday, September 30,
1995, for the St. Paul Police Youth Initiafive Aviatian Academy g�raduation.
The purpose of this banquet is to recogpize and honor the graduates who successfully accomplished the
following goals; Impraved constructive interactions between youth, Law Enforcement Officers, and adult
community leaders. Participated in adult/y+outh mentor relationslup and completed aviation ground school
training in preparafion for the Federal Aviafion Administration Private Pilot wzitten examination. The
graduates aze twenty-four �*hcirantc who aze at "risk" youth, St. Paul Police Officers, and adult
commumty leader role models.
The Aviatian Academy is fimded by a grant from the Minnesota State Department of Public Safery as part
of the S� Paul Police Department Youth Liaison Program.
RESOLVF.D, that the pzoper City Officials aze hereby authorized to remit payment to the Goodwill
Industries Inc. Easter Seal Society of Minnesota for the above mentianed banqnet for meals only, an
amount not to excced $1,3�Q.00 from account code OQ1-04100-Q219-4�015. No alcoholic beverages will
be purchased with these fands.
