RESOLTJITON
VJHEREAS, the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act (MN Statutes Chapter 473.252) created the TaY
Base Revitalization Account (TBRA) which provides funds to clean up contaminated land in areas that have
lost commerciaiflndustrial activity to make it available far economic redevelopment, job retention and job
growth, and

WHEREAS, the City Council approved the submission of a grant application to the TBRA for the first cycle
of 1998 grants to cover the costs of abatement af asbestos material from the old RiverCentre arena, currently
being demolished to make way for a new facility, and
WHEREAS, having been ranked favorably in the grant pzogram criteria, the City was awarded $975,082 by
the members of the Community Development Committee of the Metropolitan Council who were charged
with approving the grant awazds, and
19 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Saint Paui does hereby amend the budget in the
20 amount of $975,082 from the Metropolitan Council TBRA for the purposes of hazardous asbestos removal
2l from the currenf RiverCentre facility.
