This deposit is returned when the person leaves the auction or is applied to the purchase price of a vehicle. This process requires up to two clerks to process these transacrions for approxunately four hows at each auction. Many people who currently attend aze just curious and not serious bidders. The depariment has also contracted with a professional auctioneer which has produced more efficient and businesslike auctions. It is anticipated implementation of this action will generate approximately $16,200 annually. Funds generated would be deposited in the Impound Lot Fund (24050). ADVANTAGESIFAPPROVED Charging a non-refundable five dollaz ($5) admission fee to auctions will greatly reduce the administrative costs associated with collecting and returning a twenty dollar ($20) deposit, increase efficiency in conducting motor vehicle auctions; help inswe attendance of mare serious and bonafide bidders, and finance the services of the auctioneer. The Minneapolis Impound Lot currently chazges a five dollar ($5) admission fee to their eneral ublic motor vehicle aucrions. DISADVANTAGES IF APPROVED None anticipated.
