98-1044� ��'c��,�r�.,� a� � � `�� RESOLUTION ��lf �F�AINT PAUY, A�NNESOTA Preseatea Referred To Council File # 9� — �� � Green Sheet # (� o03 ° Committee Date RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITY POLICY TO IDENTj�I' AND IMPLEMENT COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS TO THE YEAR 2000 (7¢2K) PROBLEM 1 WHEREAS, there is a high degree of uncertainty with regazd to the mmunity-wide impact of Y2K induced 2 infrastructure failures; and 3 WHEREAS, the situation caused by these infrastructure failure could be disastrous, geographically and 4 funcrionally broader than past infrastructure failwes; and 5 WHEREAS, Saint Paul has a long and honored history 6 WHEREAS, Y2K presents an unprecedented and neighborhoods working together; and for a11 members of the Saint Paul community; and 7 WHEREAS, by preparing now our community ' I be better off and may be in a position to lend assistance, 8 where needed, to people of other communities; ow, 9 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that th Saint Paul City Council establishes, as City policy, the following 10 measures which act to identify and imple ent community solutions to the Yeaz 2000 (Y2K) problem: 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1. Strive to minimize the mpact of Y2K induced failures on the safety, health and welfare of our citizens. 2. Work to make o commurrity resources as robust as possible to respond to Y2K issues. 3. Maximize speed, flexibility and effecriveness of community and City responses to Y2K induced di prions. L� and support resources for a community-wide preparation effort. 5.
