I am requesting a date of November 4, 1998 for a Public Hearing to approve the attached
Council Resolution. The purpose of the resolution is to vacate the remaining center 20
feet of 5tevens Street from the West line of the alley in Block 6 to the western terminus of
Stevens Street at Lot 10, Block 5, Langevin's 4th Addition to Saint Paul because this
section of street is no longer in use. I ha�e enclosed photocopies of the Green Sheet, the
Council Resolution and a map of the area to be vacated. Please let me know if there is any
additional information you might need.
The resolution is currently being routed far signatures along with the responses from the
utilities and other pertinent information.

We, the undersigned, cons6tuting a majority of the owners (or their legally designated representatives)
of the abutting properties, do hereby petition the Council of the City of St. Paul to vacate its interest in
the property legally described as follows:
The remaining center 20 feet of Stevens Street from the west line of the alley in Block
6 to the westem terminus of Stevens Street at Lot 10, Block 5, Langevin's 4th Addi�on
to St. Paul.
We request this vacation for the following reasons:
The property in question has not been used as a street or alley for many years, if ever. For at least the
past 40 years, the property has been used and maintained by the current and previous owners of Lots 8, 9 and
10, whose garages abut the city property. This includes maintaining a sidewalk along the south side of the
property (used for ingress and egress to and through Lot 10), mowing, planting, clearing, cleaning and other-
wise using the properly. It was not until last summer that the abutting owners realized that the 20 feet section
between the garages was still a city street or alley.

The City Clerk has refened to this office for recommendation the petition of 3. Michael Barone
& Lise L. Schmidt for the vacation of Stevens Street from the west line of the alley in Block 6 to
the western terminus of Stevens Street. This inquiry pertains to the vacation of City right-of-
way only. Depending on the petitioner's reason for requesting this vacation and the
intended use for the vacated right-of-way, some or all of the utility easements may be
retained.
The purpose of this vacation is to vacate this portion of street which is no longer in use
Will you please advise me of any existing utility easements or of any concerns over the intended
future use of this proposed vacation. I would like to receive your comments before August 7,
1998 so I can prepare a report to the City Council on this matter.

of U.S. West Communication, Inc.

I am requesting a date of November 4, 1998 for a Public Hearing to approve the attached
Council Resolution. The purpose of the resolution is to vacate the remaining center 20
feet of 5tevens Street from the West line of the alley in Block 6 to the western terminus of
Stevens Street at Lot 10, Block 5, Langevin's 4th Addition to Saint Paul because this
section of street is no longer in use. I ha�e enclosed photocopies of the Green Sheet, the
Council Resolution and a map of the area to be vacated. Please let me know if there is any
additional information you might need.
The resolution is currently being routed far signatures along with the responses from the
utilities and other pertinent information.

We, the undersigned, cons6tuting a majority of the owners (or their legally designated representatives)
of the abutting properties, do hereby petition the Council of the City of St. Paul to vacate its interest in
the property legally described as follows:
The remaining center 20 feet of Stevens Street from the west line of the alley in Block
6 to the westem terminus of Stevens Street at Lot 10, Block 5, Langevin's 4th Addi�on
to St. Paul.
We request this vacation for the following reasons:
The property in question has not been used as a street or alley for many years, if ever. For at least the
past 40 years, the property has been used and maintained by the current and previous owners of Lots 8, 9 and
10, whose garages abut the city property. This includes maintaining a sidewalk along the south side of the
property (used for ingress and egress to and through Lot 10), mowing, planting, clearing, cleaning and other-
wise using the properly. It was not until last summer that the abutting owners realized that the 20 feet section
between the garages was still a city street or alley.

I am requesting a date of November 4, 1998 for a Public Hearing to approve the attached
Council Resolution. The purpose of the resolution is to vacate the remaining center 20
feet of 5tevens Street from the West line of the alley in Block 6 to the western terminus of
Stevens Street at Lot 10, Block 5, Langevin's 4th Addition to Saint Paul because this
section of street is no longer in use. I ha�e enclosed photocopies of the Green Sheet, the
Council Resolution and a map of the area to be vacated. Please let me know if there is any
additional information you might need.
The resolution is currently being routed far signatures along with the responses from the
utilities and other pertinent information.

The remaining center 20 feet of Stevens Street from the west line of the alley in Block
6 to the westem terminus of Stevens Street at Lot 10, Block 5, Langevin's 4th Addi�on
to St. Paul.
We request this vacation for the following reasons:
The property in question has not been used as a street or alley for many years, if ever. For at least the
past 40 years, the property has been used and maintained by the current and previous owners of Lots 8, 9 and
10, whose garages abut the city property. This includes maintaining a sidewalk along the south side of the
property (used for ingress and egress to and through Lot 10), mowing, planting, clearing, cleaning and other-
wise using the properly. It was not until last summer that the abutting owners realized that the 20 feet section
between the garages was still a city street or alley.

The City Clerk has refened to this office for recommendation the petition of 3. Michael Barone
& Lise L. Schmidt for the vacation of Stevens Street from the west line of the alley in Block 6 to
the western terminus of Stevens Street. This inquiry pertains to the vacation of City right-of-
way only. Depending on the petitioner's reason for requesting this vacation and the
intended use for the vacated right-of-way, some or all of the utility easements may be
retained.
The purpose of this vacation is to vacate this portion of street which is no longer in use
Will you please advise me of any existing utility easements or of any concerns over the intended
future use of this proposed vacation. I would like to receive your comments before August 7,
1998 so I can prepare a report to the City Council on this matter.
