WI�REAS, The City of Saint Paul has endorsed and encouraged participation in the Combined Campaign
for charitable giving; and
WT�REAS, It is traditional for local businesses to contribute funds, goods or services to be awarded to
employees who make their names available to be selected through random drawings in order to encourage
employees to donate; and
WHEREAS, It is in the public interest to encourage employees to donate to the Combined Campaign; and,
therefore, be it
& RESOLVED, That the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the solicitation of donations from area
9 merchants and others to have auailable for random drawings for employees who make their names available
10 and that such donations shall be deemed to be gifts to the City of Saint Paul; and, be it
ll FURTI�R RESOLVED, That such donations shall be deemed to be donations to the City within the
12 meaning of section 41.03 of the Adaunisuative Code, and in compliance with all the requirements of chapter
13 41 ofthe Administrative Code, and
14 FINAI.LY RESOLVED, that the donations and their usage are declared to be for a public purpose.
