97-957Council File # � �1 S ���:� ����,�s���: Presented By 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 RePerred To Green Sheet # � l t RESOLUTION 41NT PAUL, MINNESOTA Committee: Date 013 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is required under the provisions of the Metropolitan Land Platuring Act to update its comprehensive plans and official controls by December 31, 1998; and WIiEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is authorized to provide planning assistance grants to local units of governments to assist them in completing their updated plans; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is authorized to make grants up to $20,000 based on communities' efforts to meet the Council's goals and policies provided that the grants not exceed 75 percent of the total costs and expenses of the work plan, service or activity for which a grant is awarded; WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Plauning Commission and the Department of Plauniiig and Economic Development have been actively involved in updating the various chapters of the City's comprehensive plan in a manner consistent with the Council's goals and policies and will complete their work for Metropolitan Council review by December 31, 1998; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED thax the City Council authorizes the Depafinent of Plam�ing and Economic Development to submit an application to the Metropolitan Council for a planning assistance grant totaling $20,000. , Requested by Department of: Pla i & Ec no i ev lo m n By• /P/� Adopted by Council: Date �=� V Form Approved by City Attorney Adoption Certi£ied by Council Secretary B Y` � \ - _ � - *'-a ir�.
