WEiEREAS, the National Hockey Leaque Minnesota Team Investors have generously o£fered
to hold a parade and celebration on June 25, 1997, in honor of the award of a
National Hockey League £ranchise in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, invitations to the parade and celebration have been extended to the Mayor,
City Council, and City staff; and
WHEREAS, it is important for the city qovernment to show support for this event and
its significance to the qrowth and development of Saint Paul; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, triat the City Council hereby extends its appreciation to the Minnesota
Team Investors for their generosity in sponsoring the event and gratefully accepts
the invitations; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council hereby appropriates the invitations to the Mayor,
City Council, and City staff and declares a public purpose in the acceptance and use
of the gift for the reasons stated.
