VJHEREAS, the Council has received a petition from Capital City Ventures, LLC, for
specially assessing costs for a fire protection system for 340 Cedar Street; and

WFIEREAS, said petition meets the requirements of Minnesota Statues 424 and the city policy
on assessing costs for fire protection systems; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner requires that the Council waive the requirement that all petitions
must be received and approved by the Council before the construction or installation of the proposed
fire protection system for work akeady completed on the lOth floor in the amount of $25,700; and
WHEREAS, the Council has fully considered and reviewed the peution and policy; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the above
described improvement be made, and the proper city off'icers are hereby directed to proceed with the
improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, Uaat the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby waive the
requirement that all petitions must be received and approved by the Council before the construction or
installation of the proposed fire protection system for work already completed on the lOth floor in the
amount of $25,700; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon the completion of said unprovement, the proper City
officers shall calculate all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to the City Council in
accordance with Chapter 429 of the Minnesota Statues and the fire protection system policy; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of
the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that the Capital
Improvement Budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council is hereby further amended
in following particular:
