The 04-26-97 rates and APPENDIX D- REViSED reflect the additional $1.00 to which the
parties agreed.
The basic hourly wage rate for temporary employees whose length of service and
earnings require that they be subject to Pubiic Employees Retirement Association (PERA)
contributions shall be the rate as shown in this Appendix "C" for provisional employees in
such classes. - - — —
The State of Minnesota is considering changing the PERA contribution rates for employers and
employees. If the rates change, the rates listed above will change accordingly.
In the event that the Union elects to have the fringe benefit coniributions made by the
Employer increased during the contract period, the basic honrly wage rates shall be reduced by
the amount of such increase.

When performing the foliowing types of work, the rate of pay shall be seventy-five cents
($.75) per hour over the basic hourly wage rate for any class covered by this Agreement:
Sandblasting, swing-stage work, erected structural steel skeleton work, all
bridge work, all exterior work where safety belt or window jacks are used,
spray painting, for application of materials over 50% creosote, and for
apglication of all two component epoxy materials.

The Employer agrees to pay $30.00 towazd the cost of a pair of safety shoes purchased by an
employee who is a member of this unit. T'he Employer shall contribute towazd the cost of one
pair of shces per contract year and shall not be responsible for any addi6onal cost for any
additional shoes thereafter. The reimbursement of $30.00 shall be made only after
investigation and approval by the immediate supervisor of that employee. This
$30.00 Employer contribution shall apply only to those employees ^-::,, a�- required by the
Employer to wear protective shoes.
APPENDIX D - revised 05/Oi/97
Effective April 26, 1997, the Employer shall:
(1) contribute to a designated Heaith and Welfare �nd $2.95 per hour for all hours
worked by employees covered by this Agreement.
(2) contribute to a Pension F�nd $4.00 per hour for all hours worked by employees
covered by this Agreement.
(3) deduct $1.50 per hour from which payroll deductions have been made for all hours
worked by employees covered by this Agreement, to a Vacation Fund.
(4) deduct $.18 per hour from which payroll deductions have been made for all hours
worked by employees covered by this Agreement to the Minnesota Conference of
Painters and Allied Trades.
(5) contribute to an Apprentieeship Training �nd $.15 per hour for all hours worked by
employees cavered by this Agreement.

The EMPL4YER shall estabIish Workezs' Compensauon and LTnemployment Com�ncation
programs as required by Minnesota Statutes.
Employees covered tsy this Agreement shall not be govemed by nor be cligible for, the
accumulation of vacarion, sick leave, hokiday, funeral leave, jury duty, or insurance fringe
benefits that are or may be established by Civil Service Rules, Council Ordinance or Council
Resolution.
The Employer's fringe benefit obtigation to empIoyees is limited to [he conrributions and/or
deductions established by this Agreement. The actual level o€ benefits provided to employees
sball be the responsibility of tlie Tnutees of the various funds to which the Employer has
forwarded contributions andlor deductions.
AGREED to this 9�day of May, 1947, and attested to as the full and �omplete
untierstanding of the parries for the period of time herein specified by the signature of the

The 04-26-97 rates and APPENDIX D- REViSED reflect the additional $1.00 to which the
parties agreed.
The basic hourly wage rate for temporary employees whose length of service and
earnings require that they be subject to Pubiic Employees Retirement Association (PERA)
contributions shall be the rate as shown in this Appendix "C" for provisional employees in
such classes. - - — —
The State of Minnesota is considering changing the PERA contribution rates for employers and
employees. If the rates change, the rates listed above will change accordingly.
In the event that the Union elects to have the fringe benefit coniributions made by the
Employer increased during the contract period, the basic honrly wage rates shall be reduced by
the amount of such increase.

APPENDIX C (Continued)
When performing the foliowing types of work, the rate of pay shall be seventy-five cents
($.75) per hour over the basic hourly wage rate for any class covered by this Agreement:
Sandblasting, swing-stage work, erected structural steel skeleton work, all
bridge work, all exterior work where safety belt or window jacks are used,
spray painting, for application of materials over 50% creosote, and for
apglication of all two component epoxy materials.

The Employer agrees to pay $30.00 towazd the cost of a pair of safety shoes purchased by an
employee who is a member of this unit. T'he Employer shall contribute towazd the cost of one
pair of shces per contract year and shall not be responsible for any addi6onal cost for any
additional shoes thereafter. The reimbursement of $30.00 shall be made only after
investigation and approval by the immediate supervisor of that employee. This
$30.00 Employer contribution shall apply only to those employees ^-::,, a�- required by the
Employer to wear protective shoes.
APPENDIX D - revised 05/Oi/97
Effective April 26, 1997, the Employer shall:
(1) contribute to a designated Heaith and Welfare �nd $2.95 per hour for all hours
worked by employees covered by this Agreement.
(2) contribute to a Pension F�nd $4.00 per hour for all hours worked by employees
covered by this Agreement.
(3) deduct $1.50 per hour from which payroll deductions have been made for all hours
worked by employees covered by this Agreement, to a Vacation Fund.
(4) deduct $.18 per hour from which payroll deductions have been made for all hours
worked by employees covered by this Agreement to the Minnesota Conference of
Painters and Allied Trades.
(5) contribute to an Apprentieeship Training �nd $.15 per hour for all hours worked by
employees cavered by this Agreement.

The EMPL4YER shall estabIish Workezs' Compensauon and LTnemployment Com�ncation
programs as required by Minnesota Statutes.
Employees covered tsy this Agreement shall not be govemed by nor be cligible for, the
accumulation of vacarion, sick leave, hokiday, funeral leave, jury duty, or insurance fringe
benefits that are or may be established by Civil Service Rules, Council Ordinance or Council
Resolution.
The Employer's fringe benefit obtigation to empIoyees is limited to [he conrributions and/or
deductions established by this Agreement. The actual level o€ benefits provided to employees
sball be the responsibility of tlie Tnutees of the various funds to which the Employer has
forwarded contributions andlor deductions.
