Committee Date
1 WI7EREAS, on Apri12, 1997, City Council considered Resolution 97-349 which introduced the Capital City Development
2 Program, was laid over until Apri130, 1997, to be discussed at the policy meeting; and
3 WHEREAS, on Apri130, 1997, public discussions was held concerning the development of the capital City development
4 Program which could realign city development objectives with neighborhood based proposals for housing and business
5 revitalization by targeting specific residential and commercial areas which require strategies for these activities; and
6 W fIEREAS, the Capital City Development Program is a proposal in response to policy discussions generated at the City
7 Council related to housing rehabilitation/new development and commercial development; and
8 WF�REAS, City Council directed PED staff to develop an implementation plan for the Capital City Development Program
9 to be brought back to the City Council within (6) weeks; and
10 WHEREAS, to facilitate discussion on these issues among City Councilmembers, City staff, and members of the community,
11 a series of Resolutions pertaining to components of the Capital city Development Program will be introduced to assist in the
12 implementation of the Progam; now therefore be it
13 RESOLVED, that PED continue to work to collapse funding programs and their reporting requirements so that funds can be
14 pooled for greater flexibiliTy across the city; and be it further
15 RESOLVED, that PED develop a plan to reduce the city and federal reporting requirements to a single reporting fonn, and to
16 request the necessary federal waivers to accomplish this task by August 1, 1997.
