WHBREAS, on May 3, 1995, the Council of the City of Saint Paul approved an interim zoning ordinance
(Ordinance 95-350) which is effective for a period of one year and which permits drop-in centers in B-4, B-
5, and I-1 zoning districts if located at least 600 feet from other drop-in centers and specified "protected
uses";
WHEREAS, Section 3 of the interim ordinance provides for the extension of the ordinance beyond May 3,
1946, by resolution in the event such extension is required to complete studies and adopt possible
amendments to the zoning code;
WHEREA5, the interim ordinance has been extended to May 3, 1997 by Council file 96-401;
WHEREAS, the studies of the plamuug commission and deliberations of the City Council to consider
amendments to the zoning code will require additional tnne;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council extends the interim ordinance (Ordinance
95-350), continuing the regulation of drop-in centers for a period of six months, or until the completion of
snxdies by the Planning Commission and deliberations of the City CouncIl and the enactnnent on new zoning
regulation if deemed appropriate, whichever occurs first.
