WFIEREAS, the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation has generously offered a contribution
to the City to fund the travel, lodging and meal expenses of three members of the Pazks and
Recreation Division staff for a trip to New Yark City, and
WFIEREAS, the purpose of the trip is to provide an on-site lear�ung and education
experience for tke staff as part of the "Achievement Plus Community School Initiative", and
WFIEREAS, the trip will be held on May 15-18, 1997, and provide valuable insights
into the community school program functions as working tools for Saint Paul's venturing into
a similar program, nowtherefor be it,
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the Amherst H.
Wilder Foundation's generous and thoughtfiil gift and �tends its deep appreciation and thanks
to the Foundafion for the same, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council hereby appropriates the contribution for the
expenses of the staff on the above trip and declares a public purpose in the expenditure for
the reasons stated above.
