6 Whereas, the Council supported Mayor Coleman's proposal to create a Saint Paul Community Development

Whereas, the Community Development Task Force compieted its work and presented its reaommendations to
Mayor Coleman in 3anuary 1997;
Whereas, the Council, at iYs meeting on April 16, 1997, received a presentation of the Community
Development Agenda and discussed steps toward implementation of the recommendations;
Now, there€ore, be it resolved, that the Council accepts the Saint Paul Community Development Agenda,
1996-2001;pendinQ a review of the Gommunitv Develooment Aaenda bv the PlanninQ Commission

Force, especialJy the co-chairs Denise Harris and Pat Donovan and the subcommittee chairs; thanks the
corporations, foundations, and nonprofits that co-sponsored the task force; thanks the several organizations
that donated staff time to support the task force's work; and, finally, thanks the citizen organizations
throughout the city that provided input to the task force;
And further resolved, that the Council will work with the administration to identify priorities for action and
to review the administration's plans and programs for implementing them.
