i WI3EREA5, the Future Force program has operated as a service learving program in
2 Saint Paul since September 1994, and engages up to 50 young people in service learning
3 projects which create positive impacts on neighborhoods throughout the City, and
4 WHEREAS, Future Force is funded through federal "Americorps" and state
5 "Youth Works" grants and in-kind support from local program partners, and
6 WHEREAS, Future Force has insufficient available funding for use to rent building
7 space and equipment necessary to operate the program, and
8 WHEREAS, Concordia College of Saint Paul is willing to allow the City access to and
9 use of building space within its campus located at Concordia Street and Hamline Avenue,
1 o furnishings and equipment for use in operating the Future Force program, and
il WHEREAS, Concordia College has asked the Ciry to indemnify and hold them
12 harmless, during tbe use of its facility by Future Force; now, therefore,
13 BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul Ciry Council agrees to indemnify and hold
14 harmless Concordia College, its trustees and emgloyees from all suits, claims and action of
15 every character and description brought against Concordia College for or on account of any
16 injuries or damages received or sustained by any party, parties, or property by any reason of
17 any act of negligence omission of said City, its contractors, agents or employees, or on
18 account of any of any act or omission of the Ciry in its use and occupancy of the assigned
19 premises or use of any equipment of any kind belonging to Concordia College, subject to the
2 0 provisions of Minnesota Statute 8466.
