1 WHEREAS, the Norman Coleman Inaugural Committee, Inc. has generously offered the
2 approxixnate suxn of $60,000 to the City to defray in substantial part the cost of the inaugural
3 ceremony and celebration for the Mayor and Councilmembers to be held January 2, 1998, now
4 therefore be it

6 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the contribution
7 and appropriates it for the use stated above; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, the Council declares a public purpose in the expenditure of the
money to sponsor a worthy civic event the public may attend and pa.rtake in; and
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Council extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to
the Committee for its generosity and thoughtfiilness in public affairs.
