97-1572Council File # �� Green Sheet # `Y , 6 S � OF Presented By Referred To L, MINNESOTA Committee: Date RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM THE WEST GROUP FOR THE SCIENCE MiJSEUM PROJECT 1 Wf�REAS, the City has committed nearly $18,500,000 in financing towards public improvements and 2 acquisition related to the Science Museum to the $96 million project; and 3 4 WHEREAS, a portion oF committed funding for acquisition, demolirion and relocation costs is 5 currently funded with loan proceeds; and 7 WHEREAS, the West Group which is an important national and regional corporate citizen desires to 8 donate to the City of Saint Paul $200,000 to assist the Science Museum Project; and 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 WIlEREAS, under state law and City Charter and Administrative Code, the City of Saint Paul can accept gifts for and on behalf of the City, which gifts then become properiy of the City and are auailable for appropriarion by the City Council for public purposes; NOW, TF3EREFORE BB IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, as follows: 1. It acknowledges the West Group as an unportant national and regional corporate citizen and accepts its donation of $200,000 for the Science Museum Project; and 19 2. The 1997 City of Saint Paul Budget (attached in E�ibit A) is amended to accept the donation and 20 corresponding annual debt service payment consistent with CF-96-1561.
